Disappointment

She hadn’t been disappointed many times in her life. To tell the truth, that was probably her biggest problem. You’ve probably heard a half dozen “building character” overgeneralization stories, but it is true–if you haven’t been disappointed, you don’t know a damn thing about life. So when she sat at her desk, waiting for the day to officially start, as the click of her mouse punctuated the empty office suite, she assumed things would go her way today. After all, rarely did they not.

The coffee was made, her inbox was full from the overnight email, waiting to be dealt with. Everything was set. Except one thing.

Meh. Not the strongest thing ever written. I doubt it will go anywhere. I do wonder if I could do something different with the first line.
